Had an odd problem on the 110 tdi the last few mornings

Turn the Ignition on & all the idiot lights come on, wait for the glowplug light to go out then turn the key to start, theres a delay of a second or 2 before anything happens.

Am I right in assuming this is a problem with the Ignition switch & is there any fix (squirt of something) or is a new switch required or could it be a relay going

Possible could be the starter solenoid or the ignition switch. Take the thin cable off the starter motor and put a test light on it, if you turn the the key to the starter position and the test light lights immediately every time the ignition switch will be fine, and you'll need a new starter motor as the problem will be with the solenoid sticking causing a delay. Otherwise it's your igniton switch.

You wouldnt happen to know if the starter off a 1.8T will fit the 1.9 TDi as i have the old strter off the 1.8 in the garage
