my octy is a 1.6 but what do all the badges stand for. on the back its slx and a red i,under the bonnet its 1.6 sr.

SLX - trim level designation, and a fairly high one at that. In fact, I think that was the top level pre-facelift, more or less the same as my Elegance (remote locking, all round electric windows, Climatronic, CD stacker, leccy sunroof, alloys...)

i - Injection, and a bit irrelevant on a European car these days, since they all are.

1.6 - nominal capacity.

sr - no idea either.

Sounds like an engine change at sometime?

no its the original engine, had her since new.but i found the anwser on the vw forum the sr are initals for german words literly meaning sucking pipe.relating to the tuning in the air box.common on akl engine.

I have the 1.4 16v Menostrim (one below Classic).

You only get 2 seats and err..... not a lot else.

I have the special very limited edition without air-con, air bags, carpet, panels, front crash bar etc. It hasen't even got a battery under the bonnet.

Cost....... upward of 40K. I don't think Skoda are going to sell loads of these.
