Wonky Steering, even after tracking etc

Featured Replies

Fiancee's Fabia Sport has a bizarre handling problem. The steering when going round sharp corners / mini roundabouts seems to go a bit funny, he has to practically oversteer into the turn, and the tyres seem to be having problems gripping the road. I have a feeling he's bombed over a pothole and buggered sumut, but even after having the tracking, camber etc all checked (which improved it slightly) it still does it. It isn't the tyres - there's still loads of grip left on them. I was wondering if it could be something to do with the power steering - any ideas?

you say the tyres have loads of grip left on them

this means nothing if they are poor quality cheapo tyres , these tend to have a lot less grip than a named brand tyre , of course the tyres on the car could be a good brand , in which case i would check the pressures are correct

Yeah they're the original Dunlops it came with. I have a suspicion it may be pressure related, the only other thing I can think of is that even tho I'd say the tyres all have about 4mm left on em, is there a possibility they have gone 'off'? Until he fixes it, I'm sticking to my Fabia...

Yeah they're the original Dunlops it came with...
