service indicator reset

Featured Replies

Service now warning indicator came on the other day and I can't reset it using the instructions in handbook, tried loads of times, it is on QG1 servicing although dealer stamps in book say variable, the only other thing is the check brake pads warning comes on before the service indicator. I had it serviced 2 weeks ago at local independent and it is going back in for front discs and pads next month. Any ideas on how to get rid of service warning.

Variable service reset is Vag-Com or dealer only I'm afraid.

Try this:

OIL - Oil Service

Press and hold button [A].

Switch ignition ON.

The letters "OIL" will appear in the odometer display of the speedometer.

Release button [A]

Turn button to the right until the letters are eraser and replaced by "-----"

INSP - Inspection service

Press and hold buttom [A]

Switch ignition ON.

The letters OIL will appear in the odometer display of the speedometer.

Release button [A]

Press and release button [A]

The letters "INSP" will appear in the odometer display of the speedometer.

Turn button to the right until the letters are erased and replaced by "-----"

If required clear the "OIL" indicator from the display as previous described.

Kari, that is great, but it will only reset it back to fixed service interval and not variable.

Is it possible to change back to variable service intervall if I have done the procedure Kari wrote?

I'm afraid I have changed my car to fixed, but this was not mine intention...

Yes, but only via Vag-Com (or dealer)

What's the procedure in vag-com?
