Octavia Mark 1 suspension

Featured Replies

Hi there,

Want to replace my car's (Octavia Hatchback, W reg (2000) 1.9 TDI 110BHP) front and rear shock absorbers.

Anyone have any tips where to buy the best ones? Lots of long distance driving, one's that will last?

Also if you know of any fitmaent centres around Sutton/Wimbledon/Morden area that will do this for you if you supply yoru own goodies?

Thanks,

PM

The general view is that the normal Octy's are under-damped (and I know a road that shows it up big time, but it's 600 miles for you to reach it). I'd suggest Koni FSDs are the best way to handle stiffening up the damping on big high-speed bumps but retaining the compliance on typical in-town imperfections.

Can't help regarding garages in SW London though.
