Well got my dyno on my recently revod RS on Sat. Before that had

the K&N induction kit fitted. Nice roar off it. Not too loud which

is good.

I was told to expect up to 210bhp and up to 240lbs torque. I

got 206.7bhp at 5100rpm and 247.9lbs torque. The reason my

bhp was down was explained by the fact that day was quite hot

(over 20 degress) and as I have driven nearly 3 hours, so was my

engine. On another colder day I could expect at least another

3-4 bhp and the induction kit could easily give me 4-5 extra

bhp on a cold day also but not much at all on that day.

Of course I am also using Pura (which is basically 95 octane).

The other interesting thing my tuner pointed out was that a lot of

tuning complanies are not very 'conservative' and give what he

thinks are slightly artificial figures. He reckoned if I went

elsewhere I could get another 6-7bhp easy. The machine they are

using he said was extremely accurate. It is a Sun Ram XII Loading

Type Rolling Road, with MGA 1200 Analyzer And Air 7 Cooling Fan.

Apparently some tuners in the UK are just getting these models in.

All in all I am pretty happy. I will post the graph as soon as I get hold of a scanner.

Pity it didn't hit 210bhp. Then again it might have on another day. And then there is the question of how conservative the rolling road is compared to other models.

Yup, wait for a nice cold night...that will be tonight then

Then go out for a potter...it will feel a dam site better than it did on the drive home at 5pm in 20+ degrees of heat.

Then try it in winter at -5 :D

Except ice causes a few issues on the road...but basically cold intake = more power reading.

Don't be worried by figures, It's better than stock

Agreed, to be honest 5-6bhp is hardy noticable by most peeps, just get it dynoed again early some winters morn for more impressive pub banter its a great figure on 95 ron without any exhaust mods...
