Will this cable and some compatible software be usable for such a car as a Octavia 1.6 SLX 1998 model?

Need to check for error codes and reset service signs etc.

probably.......it won't do everything you wanted......but should give you any fault codes ..which is useful.

have a good read as to what is being sold....to make sure it fits your car..they usually describe what it will do..and show you where to download software..or maybe include disc

can be tricky sometimes to get working on computer because of port issues...but plently of info on the site anyway

if you get the right cable....can't go wrong for the price.....you should be able to read fault codes.

it'll give you a taste for vag com.....save you a few bob...maybe even entice you to get real thing
