MFD3 czech manual

Featured Replies

just got a new vrs with the mdf3/ RNS510 sat nav, but the instruction manual is in czech. just wondering if someone could tell me how to put postcodes in to find a route, or even if it is possible.

VRStu will no doubt be along shortly to sort you out

UK Postcodes don't work on the Columbus/RNS510 as yet.

I am assured that Skoda and VW are working on it but when they decide to release a fix is anyones guess.

I would ask your dealer to get you a UK manual.

hmmmmmmm

was wondering how to put postcodes in!!!!!!

Yep it's the same with the Factory fitted units and all of the VW units.

errr....so maybe this is a stupid quesiton, but how do you navigate without postcodes?

Surely in the UK at least a house is made unique by the number and postcode combo....?....

do you think a softwrae update with postcodes could be expected?

I manage because I live at an address rather than a postcode:D. Seriously, BMW are just the same. Partial postcodes is all you get with the factory supplied disc :thumbdwn::( so you just input the full postal address or if it is a special place have a hunt in the preset destinations.

It's actually very easy you use the country, town, street, and street number. POi's are very good even to the extent that you can search by telephone number (Should you have it).

Postcodes are implemented but there seems to have been a flaw in the sofware which doesn't allow for the UK postcode format. They work everywhere else in the world.

I am sure that VAG will be working on it as they will be under some significant customer pressure not to mention embarassment.

Nissan SatNavs (in Pathfinder, navara etc) are the same, no postcodes.

Be aware though, that any update to enable them, maybe as part of a map upgrade which you would have to pay for!

My GARMIN 276CSX hand held unit does not do post codes but it is excellent at finding stuff. You just have to get used to the method of searching but if its touch screen cant you zoom in and out and pinpoint the location then hit go to?? Or is this too logical?

I have heard that the western Europe v3 disc may be working with partial postcodes eg. the first letter and number combo but not the last too digits. (AA12 3)

Cant be sure but that what offers have found.

I’ve owned 2 cars with the VAG Sat Nav (a 99 Golf and a 2006 Octy) and both had partial post codes only. Funnily enough my BMW only has partial post codes too. Must be the same mapping company I guess, but you would think a modern computer system would be able to marry all the data together relatively easily.

The Nexus or MFD2 use Teleatlas but the Columbus or MFD3 use Navteq.

I do hope they sort out postcode searching soon. :)

I have just got hold of the latest V3 VW maps which have Postcodes - Only 4 digit though which is a shame.

Tested and it does work well. Interesting thing will be those of you that have just bought the unit from Skoda will have to go into battle for the V3 disk free of charge instead of having to buy it. I think they are £170 ish from VW so I expect Skoda to be similar.

great to hear i was waiting for you to confirm that i have herd this else where.

Also might be worth noting that the disk is a universal disk Skoda/Seat/VW.

Didn't realise until I read it on the packaging.

Do you know if this disk will be supplied with new build octy?

The disk is ordered as a seperate part by your dealer. I would ensure at time of delivery the disk you are given is a V3 disk and refuse to accept one that isn't.
