hi folks . . . I recently bought a second hand 2005 octavia 1.9 tdi mk1 four speed automatic which has 45000 kms on it . The auto tranny seems a little wierd at times . . . When i really push the throttle the engine just revs but the transmission doesnt down shift nor does the car pickup speed . . . . But when i am a little light no the gas paddle the car seems 2 be driving fine . . .also i am finding the engine 2 be very noisy compared 2 other octavias . . . .some light would b really helpfull . . . . Get the fluid and filter changed. Make sure the gearbox level is set correctly using diagnostic equipment.
