Having car serviced Next week

Featured Replies

Bought the car in November with 10k on the clock now got 12k on it and service indicator is on.

Ive never owned a car this new before so I dont know what to expect, a Car with 12k on the clock is it likely to need anything on the service aside from the usual filter replacements and oil change etc etc ?

I wont be looking at new pads or tyres at this stage will I ?

Obviously you cant comment on the tyres to much but lets just say its not been to thrashed

Edit: Vrs Btw

You're probably just looking at £150 - £200 for the service and nothing else should need doing.

Worth buying your own oil though as it's pricey at the dealers.

my first 'longlife service' at the dealers was £120 ! nothing needed doing. Just oil change and general inspection.

Now done 35K and quoted £220 for the '40k big service' from D.M Keith dealers in Bradford.

When I asked the dealer the cost breakdown so I could decide if I wanted to supply my own oil or even go elsewhere the price dropped from initial "about £250" quote to £180 inclusive of all materials.

Also if your car is two years old it will need the brake fluid flushed/replaced - costs around £35-£40 at a dealer
