First time Skoda owner needs help!

Featured Replies

Hi to all,I have just bought a 02 Fabia estate 1.9tdi with 70,000 on the clock and have to say I am very happy with it after five weeks use.I read in the hand book you can run pure biodiesel in the car and have been doing for about four weeks with no problems apart from taking a couple of turns on cold mornings to start it after that it starts first time every time.My question to your collective wisdom is am I doing any long term harm to the car and do I need to change the diesel filter after doing about a 1000 miles on bio.If I do need to change the filter can someone point me in the right direction for advice on changing the filter. Thanks:confused:

Yes you need to change the filter a lot more often on bio and the first one or two changes will be after short distances as it will pull all the accumulated crud out of the tank.

Personally in the colder weather I'd probably be running it on 50:50 to get a bit of lubrication from teh mineral derv.
