sky broadband

Featured Replies

anyone here have it an is it anygood? used for dwnloading an xbox live.

We switched to SKY BB the end of last year(ish).

No problems with the service or connection speeds, but i don't use it for gaming.

Their CS however is appalling, you give them a MAC code, they give you the changeover date, then on that date they send you the modem, which takes up to 7 working days!!

So that means no internet for over a week!!

You cant even use a different modem as theirs is already passworded / encrypted / whatever they do to them, they wont give you the info needed to use your own modem "you have to use our supplied equipment" what a load of ******.

I've just got it for my new flat, didn't have a problem with the supplied equipment. It turned up 11 days before my line went active.

I'm not to bothered about the CS, as I have access via a different route to problem resolutions ;)

I'm using my own router now anyway. Just spoof the mac address of the supplied router and it all works.

This is how i got online (with the address off someone else with SKY)
