Spoiler Paint Defect

Featured Replies

Found this when cleaning the car not long after I collected it.

Would it bother you? Should I try and get it resprayed under warranty?

Any thoughts or comments appreciated :)

Ta in advance. :)

Get it repaired, either moisture or a reaction, can only get worse

I'd probably bring it back too Tom:thumbup:

Tom - get it sorted mate - I had that on a ford rear spoiler and six months later the laquer had all lifted and looked pretty nasty. :o

I'm just loathed to be doing with the hassle of it, and if they didn't get the paint matched right...

Suppose I should take it in... :(

The spolier is a pop on pop off job, they could replace the whole thing rather than bodge a respray. Definately worth getting sorted though warranties are worth getting every penny out of that's why we pay for them.

Please report back as to what they say the problem is.

Yeah agree with the above. If you're anything like me (and god help you if you are ) knowing it's there will bug you, even if you can't see it without looking for it.

Get it sorted and if the paint match isn't to your satisfaction, get them to redo it until it is :D

Chris

I would have thought it's near enough a £100 paint job ( spoiler off, prepped, painted, lacquered and on again.)

I'd have it done, but then again you are madder than me, so paint it black, have the wheels blacked and get a black stripe at the same time...

Sorted:thumbup:

They might not even take it off. Whats the spoiler outer made of? ABS plastic?

Paint matching these days from a shop that a dealer 'should' use is very very good. That looks like a simple remove defect and blend-in job.

Get it done, it would annoy me.

How long has it been like that do you think?

Chris

That would annoy the hell out of me - so get it sorted :)

May seem a small issue now, but better to 'nip it in the bud'.

Steve

Get is sorted before it gets worse.

The spoiler is exposed to higher amounts of UV facing upwards and plastic paints never quite "set" as they have to remain flexible. This means if anything going to fade/go funny then it is most likely to be the plastic.

On that note get it fixed before it starts to go funny and look properly manky. :)

Ok, will take it in when I get a spare day. :)

Yep I agree with the comments above - get it done under warranty but make sure they use a decent bodyshop.
