Alpine Memory problems

Featured Replies

I have hada look around the site and followed some threads on this subject. But im still having problems with my stereos memory. The advice i followed said you had to change the power cables at the back so there yellow > red, red > yellow which i have done. also have removed the blue cable between the back of the stereo and the ISO connector (which i have been told s the K-cable).

Any ideas...?

have you swapped the red and yellow back to see if it remembers the stations?

it wont blow anything so you will be fine to try it

Try swapping them back it might be a good adaptor specific to vag which already has the cables swapped.

Sorry I forgot to say that I searched for a solution cos I had them red>red, yellow>yellow to start with and changed them over… also was looking on how to connect the dimmer too, as the alpine ISO connector block has a separate bullet connector for the dimmer. So which one is needed to connect to it from the car?

You need to get a multi meter and check the live and switched live are ok sounds like only the switched live is working so it wont hold any memory when connected to either of them.Could be the fuse on the permanent live has blown, so try checking fuses.

Soted it now guys... went back out there to check fuses and removed the HU and unpluged all cables and reconnected it all and it worked fine. Thanks for the help :D

ive got this same problem. how did you fix it in the end? was it the fuse?

i have mine red/red yellow/yellow and it wont hold memory. confused.

radio stayes on even when the engine is off but if you remove the key it loses memory. weird

Have you tried switching them around on yours?

Swap the red and yellow connectors round that should sort it out
