BAM cylinder head

Featured Replies

What are the differences between the BAM cylinder head and the ARX head? Is the compression ratio different? Any other differences?

As far as I know there isnt a difference. Pretty sure the ARX has VVT as does the BAM.

I didn't think there was either but they do have different partnumbers, although the camshafts have the same number.

Do you have the part numbers to hand?

The only partnumbers I have I've got from ETOS, the ARX head is 06A 103 351 L, the BAM head is 06A 103 351 J.

Its just that there is a BAM head and camshafts on eBay at the moment and I'm toying with the idea of a BAM conversion to my ARX.

Wanting to get some parts together first really.

You would be better off getting a complete BAM engine wouldnt you?

You're probably right about that, especially at that price, its just that I saw it and wondered what the diffences are. You don't see the heads very often on their own though. I know there are alot of other bits needed to go with it.

Is there something wrong with yours or are you considering the full six speed and k04 conversion anyhow?

  • Author

Nothing wrong with mine, just thinking about K04 conversion. Not sure about six speed though, would it be needed or just desirable?

If your just thinking of a K04 conversion doing an engine swap is the long way around. Also there are better turbos to use than the K04.

Wanted to keep OEM really, I know there is alot of 'discussion' as to which turbo to use. Was hoping to get inlet & exhaust manifolds, K04, injectors, fuel pump, Miltek, FMIC and remap and be happy with that.
