PD140 Pipercross induction kit

Featured Replies

Has anyone had a play with one of these on a PD140 or vRS TDI yet?

Any thoughts if you have?

Not the Pipercross version but I've got the K&N equivalent as seen here;-

Have to say, no downsides. On the upside a nice amount of extra whoosh/hiss and roar plus, at the JKM RR day, a good few extra ponies. :D:thumbup:

Money well spent IMHO.

I think the standard air box is of very good design. If you look at it, the thing is effectively a CAI with protection from mater ingress. The OEM filters need changing regularly, which is what I do, rather than a panel filter.

If you did want to go this way, make sure you box it off to stop heat soak and replace the air intake with a similar pipe that forces cold air onto the cone filter surface.

IIRC the OEM filter is a panel filter. Don't you mean Conical filter?

That's what I have tried to do with my DIY mod of corex plastic sheilding. It also stops too much water getting at the filter, particularly from underneath.

I find the box design to be pretty good too - i also removed the lower loose "grating" from the box (It just sits there in a position - not fixed) this has helped a little i think - i got more at the RR like that compared to last time with it in anyway...
