2 1/2 hours, 8 restarts and a packet of Custard Creams later...

Featured Replies

Well went for it today... i fired up windows update for the first time and installed all the updates! Eeek!

Was only installing a few at a time hence all the restarts... some updates must have been dependant on others...

Finally Vista SP1 showed up and installed that too...

Lets hope my internet explorer won't keep crashing now... it started up, thats a plus.

Vista SP1

eeek

I'm waiting a bit before i take the plunge

Whats it like? and how were the biccies?

The biccies were good... helped me through the trauma!

All seems good so far...

When using limewire the system no longer switches to vista basic theme and also doesn't grind to a halt... all ive noticed so far.

Seems ok for me. You can also currently download it from Microsoft - about 433Mb IIRC. I just left my computer running overnight and downloaded everything it wanted to.

first thing i noticed on SP1 is that windows explorer, right click on a drive ,search is missing and search is missing from the start menu

Oh yeh...

I noticed something last night.. you can now select which drive(s) to defragment.

Still going strong anyway!

Still no SP1 for Fista Ultimate here though :thumbdwn:

Or am I missing something?

Yes!

It should be available.

As said above... you can either download it as a standalone installation (about 400 megs) or through windows update if you've got all the other updates (about 60 megs).

Mine took that long, poxy thing......well the beer during did go down well too!! :D

nothing but positives on SP1 from me, I have not noticed much difference on the desktop, but the laptop has got a huge injection of overall performance. gets a thumbs up from me

I installed it twice after blaming it for a BT Interweb fault that coincided with the first installation. Funnily enough the second download was 40gb bigger than the first at around 100mb. The only problem I have had so far is my Road Angel stopped updating, but that is now fixed.

Hmmmmmm Custard Creams..Yummmm:)
