Carbonio Or Jabba Cai (i'm Confused) Which One

Featured Replies

Oh no your OK , not having a go

I hear it alot on the forums

My son has one similar to the Carbonio on his car

There is no way on this earth I would have encouraged him to have it , living in Sheffield "N" all if there was going to be any problems

I love them myself

Sarah

I was originally interested in the carbonio but after looking into it some tuners/people have said that they have sucked in water thus causing big problems?!?!?!? due to this i just went for a powertec induction kit (for the time being) £100 the pure mesh filter even on the standard engine sounds awsome imo, jabba looks coolio and the heat shield is a nice touch.

Just thought would put my two pence worth in :P

I'm afaid there is no way i would let a powertec kit near my car. I cannot see the mesh filtering out all the fine particles. IMO

i can see from these posts there is no certain choice for induction without upsetting someone, i also have the powertec at the mo, it was light on the pocket and was an option due to mag writers warning of oiled filter for some reason or another? who knows why? it hasnt broke anything so its still in my good books lol,

a early post said his car with the carbonia doesnt drive to well in the wet? the jabba does seem to be a winner apart from the good ol green that is required to get it lol lol

they also do one for use with the IHI turbo so hmm:orb_futur they must do the job, i got told the excess oil is baked off or sumin to solve the whole over oiled thing?

dont take this as a grumpy or angry post by any means :orb_wave:

we are all family lol lol

people hear alot:orb_bonk:

i also have heard rumour that that jbs have came across cars with bent valves or sumin due to possible water intake ? and have had carbonias? also forge do a carbonia style and list for track use only? who knows ?

I DONT LOL:orb_readi

take is steady people lol

dunno if ive been any help or made thing harder lol but hey least i gave you lots of faces lol lol

That is the beauty of modding....

Nothing is wrong , it is personal choice

I just love the Carbonio.....

Like I said my son has the ABD Lan pipe

70_lan_1_k.jpg

That one

It is a nice piece of kit , along the same lines as the Carnonio , but not Carbon fibre

it does sound good , but not as much noise as the Carbonio

He has had this a few years now , and all OK

It sits in the same way as the Carbonio too

dude :orb_not_w youve got some good firgure from your car bud, what set up are you running ? is it still on the k03s and standard injectors? i want more but the choices are soooo wide but al involve injector upgrades which mess with the mpg and range reading that may bug me :orb_scare

may lol

Ha, my figures are probably a bit off as they are recorded with vag-com but iam getting it Rolling roaded at the end of the month. Iam hoping for 220bhp ish.

Intersesting about the mpg reading, with my old map the readings were about 2.5mpg over what i was actually getting but the new map reads 2.5 under what i am actually getting.

i c :orb_boss: the mpg reading thing arises when you go from the standard injectors to any bigger, the bigger the more its out ive heard as ive looked into way to many turbo upgrades but my weakness is lil things that dont work as they should tend to anoy me now that i have got a nice car i love and it all work lol :orb_danci

that said its also the plans for a little un that keeps me a tad away from a herd of 300 + galloping horses lol a few more would be nice but the car does amuse still at times and 13mpg can hurt at time as it is grrr:orb_mad:

I have the EVOMS cai.. and it is very loud.. makes the DV noise very wooshy. only problem is it sounds rubbish when just driving normally, sounds like a cat sneezing :o

Oh the wonderfull filtration properties of ladies underwear..lol

The ebay ones are ok construction wise, but the ones I have seen come with mesh filters that are really good for flow, because the filter feck all out. Use with caution.

I have one of the ebay ones which replaced my pipercross induction kit. Now with a little ingenuity and a pipe from siliconhoses.com I have managed to utilise my pipercross cone filter with the ebay CAI pipe :D My engine is to precious to me to risk a cheap filter :P

sorry i have been away for a while now.

just to let you know, i ended up settling for K&N Typhoon CAI.

one thing i must say is that the throttle response is alot better, it has an intimidating whoosh sound to scare off pedestrians and j-walkers.

and it is awesome.

will post pics soon.

How much did that set you back?

Do you get much more induction noise / DV noise? :)

it is very loud and intimidating to other motorists and pedestrians.

but the peformance has improved noticably.
