vRS springs to standard Octavia

Featured Replies

Has anyone installed Octy vRS Combi springs to standard OctyII Combi?

I have a 1.6FSI engine and vRS has a 2.0TFSI. That might cause a problem?

I searched for spring weight settings and for 1.6FSI and they're 1000kg front / 1050 rear, and for 2.0TFSI 1100kg front / 1050 rear.

So that would indicate that the rear springs are ok, but the front isn't. Is the 100kg difference that much? Would there be problems with the actual lowering and the front would be higher?

vRS springs would be nice as the lowering isn't that much and that's why they probably won't stress the standard shocks so much.

Just get the aftermarket Eibach pro kit - give Awesome GTi a call. It'll be much cheaper, look better (lower) and the handling will be better.

If the Eibach kit comes with FSD dampers go for it. Also with the vRS springs, it wont sit as low on yours as a vRS, simply due to the weight of the engine being lighter in yours.

That's what I've been thinking also. I'll have to call my local dealers for a price quote.

Awesome Sarah is a bit far as I'm in Finland :)

The Eibach kit will come with Eibach dampers which IIRC are made by Sachs.

Mmm, in which case i'd go for FSD dampers instead. Proven and approved

Yes; the front will be higher, your engine weighs less than the 2.0L TFSI! :thumbdwn: Don't do it.

Don't worry about shock absorber stress.

What effect do you want? Improved handling - get Koni FSDs OR looks - get Eibachs OR both - get both.

IMHO I'd go for the FSDs and leave the springs alone; they will keep the ride soft but make the handling sharp. :D:thumbup:
