Electric seat woes

Featured Replies

Hi, the wife went to use the car this morning & whilst trying to adjust the electrically operated seat noticed that although the motor is turning the seat wont move backwards or forwards. Any ideas as to whats gone wrong & how to fix it? The other seat adjustments are still working ok, tilt & seat height etc.

Thanks Pete :(

Have a really good look to see if there is something jamming the running path. Things like biros jamming the mechanism have been known causes.

Thanks for the reply Westerdam2. I followed your advice & checked the track channels for foreign objects - all clear. I raised the seat base up front & back during this process & retried the forward & reverse options and suddenly the seat started to respond again. I then took the time to set up the memory seat option so that I can at least reset the seat position prior to getting in, (without my weight on it), hopefully this may make the seat last / behave itself in future.

Give me normal seat adjustment mechanisms anyday over these electrical complex beasties.

Cheers

Pete :D

Glad to hear you got it sorted
