Mondeo 2.0L

Featured Replies

Had a Mondeo 2.0L hire car for 3 days and used to do a long motorway run.

Compared to the Leon review, afraid I dont really have much to say, so this will be short.

Its huge on the outside.

The boot is massive.

Inside is spacious.

2.0L engine has a lack of urgency even when pushed to 5.5k rpm before changing gear, could do woth 6th gear.

seats were not as confortable as those in the Leon, lumbar support was poor as even with fine adjustment it felt hard in the back.

Motorway cruising at 70-75 was comfortable, even with curise activated.

Plastics round the radio, like the leon was cheap and nasty, along with the 'fake' metal around the steering wheel radio controls.

In summary, this car is definatley aimed at taking the repmobile crown back, and I suspect it will. It works on the motorway, but is not exatctly suited to town driving and parking.

My view Its a bus :D:) ( sorry if any current Mondeo owners are offended, its just my thoughts )

assume 2.0 petrol not 2.0 diesel?

assume 2.0 petrol not 2.0 diesel?

Yes petrol - Sorry didnt quite make it clear :(

Altho trying to get Avis to do a diesel is like trying to get money back from the inland revenue :)
