Power steering pump gone!

Son of a beesting!

Drove around a bit on Friday, then went to visit the parents, then the powersteering light came on and all powersteering gone!

Got my mate from Skod to test and has confirmed the pump is dead!

No warnings nothing, just died!

Can get a new one for £250 probably not worth putting a secondhand one on there, any other suggestions of a cheaper new one??

If possible an uprated one would be advisable as the OEM one seems to be a bit under-par.

Ok, Matrix Leds are fantastic. When driving on A or B class roads they working perfect, illuminates both sides of the road and cuts out cars at the front or oncoming traffic. I've never been flashed. When I tried to use them on motorway it's a different story. Right headlamp is illuminating as expected but left one doesn't illuminate side of the road but only gives a lot of light far at the front of the car.. My recent (non-Skoda) cars have given dashboard warnings when the battery in the key fob runs down. This gives the driver the opportunity to change the battery and to keep the key functional. The battery in my Superb's key fob recently ran down, and it went from fully operational (working the button "plip" as well as the keyless entry) to completely flat during the course of a day at work. The fan for air conditioning and heater on my 2006 Octavia Mk2 L&K is not working. I have checked the fuses and they are OK. Does it have a relay that might have failed? I am hoping it is not the fan unit itself, as this seems to be peculiar to RHD models with climatronic and was discontinued by Skoda in 2022. (Part no. 1K2 820 021).
