Engine wise, you can get the tuning boxes for around £100, which add 20-40bhp.

Wheels wise, you can get away with 18's no probs, with 225 tyres, maybe bigger!

Damn i love those wheels look so good on an Octavia:thumbup: Quality choice mate.

thanks mate, yea, i thourght they suited the car pretty well, not to boy racer style, more elegant :)

I'd not bother with a body kit; the only one available for the Octy looks pretty Ch@vvy IMO.

Wheels - 17s with 225/40s fill the arches nicely. Fit something with a fairly visually dense web because of the brake issue (see below).

Lower suspension (if available).

Brakes - Pad upgrade. The FS111 calipers on an Octy TDi that age won't accomodate anything bigger than 280mm discs, and fitting calipers that will take 312s means replacing the hub carriers and driveshafts.

Engine - plenty of CAIs, zorsts, tuning boxes and remaps available. Run a search for Devonutopia or Shifty to find out just what can be done to the TDi with a bit of cash and attitude.

thanks for d help lads! sweet wheels as well d same ones i had in my mind for it but was kinda thinkin they'd be a bit big for her?

I've got an Elegance with standard 205/55R16s on 5-spokes. They fill the arches pretty well sideways, but there's a lot of clearence between the top of the tyre and the arch. The suggestion of 225s with 17s is because they're actually cheaper than the vRS standard 205s on 17s.

I only prioritised wheels because I thought that was what you wanted to do first. I'd be more likely to do fast road brake pads and slam than change the wheels (although I've got the biggest non vRS wheels and tyres anyway).

The best Mod you can do to an Octy 1, before anything else is the suspension.

Fit FSDs and suitable springs, fit a rear ARB and if you have a small front one get a slightly bigger front one.

ya id look at wheels den lowerin it first! i was kinda thinkin of a vrs kit for it! any ideas of where to get one?

The "vRS kit" is just a slightly deeper front bumper and a rear spoiler. The deeper doesn't even notice (one of my colleagues has a vRS, and as often as not when we're both in it's parked next to my Elegance). If you want a deeper looking front end, you'd be better and cheaper to fit a Seat splitter to it. I can't remember which model, but it's been discussed before; run a site search to find more details, and photos.

You want a Seat Leon Cupra R Splitter Seat Part No: 1ML 805 903 about £21 iirc
