Over the last couple of weeks I have started to have problems with the changer as stated in the title of this thread.

I'm getting the "CHK MAGAZINE" message and when that clears I'm getting the "SURFACE" message. However I thought this was only on one disc but now after compiling another it is only reading a handfull of tracks before playing the next but no sound is heard.

All of the problem discs play in all other household players fine.

Any ideas? Or is it going to be a pull out and get new?

Sounds like the optical sensor has some dirt on it.

If you're carefull, eject the magazine and run a hoover over the opening (DONT PUT INSIDE!)

It's how I cured mine on my Octy 1.
