Fitting a TT selector arm.

Featured Replies

Bought a 5 speed TT selector arm a while ago and had a go at fitting it today.

Was easy enough getting the old one off the spindle on the gearbox and reattaching the cables but couldn't select reverse gear!

Followed the procedure of locking the selector on the gearbox with the locking pin and the gearknob in the car with a suitable sized drill bit and adjusting the cables but still no luck. Have now got the original selector back on.

Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong?

Anybody got any ideas?

i'd be surprised if it works as they are different gear boxes. the 5 speed in a TT is a 5 speed version of the 6 speed gearbox so of a completely different internal design.

Quite a lot posts about that tt shifter are on the uk-mkivs.net forum.

I am sure you'll find some info over there:thumbup:

Cheers

Just curious - what's the benefit?

Shorter throw on the gear change

Kinda what a short shifter does then?
