Today we bought a Hyundai i10!

Featured Replies

Yep, as the title says, i10 in Comfort spec in red.

Dealer says they are flying out the door - Hyundai wanted to sell 4000 this year but already 3000 orders have been received in April!

wont go wrong with a Hyundai,

i had a coupe for 3 years,

hmmmmmm good times

Seen a couple on the roads, actually - is that what the Atoz is being called now? Perfectly sensible, no-nonsense vehicle, if that's what you're in the market for...

What are they like in the flesh?

Obviously you liked it enough to buy one.

They got a good review in yesterday's Sunday Times

a mate at work has one, it looks quite good and he doesn't shut up raving about it.

Hope you enjoy your new car

Yep, they replace the Amica. The i20 will replace the Getz late this year/next year.

If you Google the i10 you will see that all reviews have much more positive than negative comment. Ours cost £7095 and you get 5 year warranty, air con, all round leccy windows, 5 door, power steering, remote central locking, 6 speaker radio/cd with aux input, leccy mirrors, height adjustable drivers seat, under seat storage on the passenger side, front fogs, under boot storage tray, alloy wheels etc

They look good in the flesh, small enough on the outside but ok on the inside (I'm 6ft 2in and, cough, 19 stone and sat in it fine). The wife wanted a small car to drive after passing her test last year and who doesn't feel comfortable in the Octy.

We went through the thought process of:

£500 car - what problems could you open up for yourself - I don't want it breaking down all the time with her in it.

£5000 car - still looking at a few years old unless you want a Matiz, and you still have MOT, maybe cam belt change coming up.

£7000 car - still a fair chunk of money but £35 a year tax, low insurance, no MOT for 3 years and 5 year warranty.

We went for red - non metallic so saves a few quid and still looks nice - the base model has black door handles and mirror housing but out comfort has these colour coded so we were happy with a base red.

Our dealer has sold over 20 since it launched at the beggining of the month and we are now looking at a July delivery, maybe June if we are lucky. Not many people are going for blue metallic so that might be a quicker delivery if anyone is interested!

Not a bad little car , probably nicer than the recently face lifted Kia Picanto. Cheap running costs and that warranty will help shift a fair few IMHO , especially the way fule costs are going up (Brent crude hit another record high today!)

Bad news - looks like delivery has been pushed back to August so we expect it will be 1 Sep on a 58 plate now. They must be selling very well to have a 4/5 month delivery time!

Don't knock it though the 58 over 08 plate will help a bit come resale time.

True, just that we wanted it next month so the wife can get driving. It is a popular car - this week in Autocar the i10 can top against the Panda, Twingo and new Agila.

Seen one today at a dealers, Looked all sported up with big rims and skirts.

A really nice looking motor. Nice buy

Don't know if I am lucky but my car cost £0 - 94 Skoda Favorit, never broken down in the year and half I've had it, nothing serious coming up on MOT's (brake pipe, exhaust, handbrake adjustment), easy to do some jobs on yourself - biggest thing from the MOT is an advisory on the steering rack being worn which will be £100 new for the part and will try replacing it myself - have had a bit of a practice removing one and they seem relatively easy to do, only problem on mine is access due to engine being in the way.

I too was thinking the same and whether the car would be worth bothering with, but it's been great. Certainly after my experience with this I won't be looking for loans for cars myself.

It's interesting to know that someone 6'2" can fit in the Hyundai as being similar height I probably wouldn't have given the car a second thought. I know someone who is maybe 5' 11" and he said he went to a hyundai dealer and sat in a car seat, his head was touching the roof and asked if it could be adjusted, to which the dealer replied "yes you can increase the height sir".

I was ok in the i10 - I had to have everything set to the max but could drive ok. Not as big as the octy obviously but ok for me. Would probably need a few more breaks on a long journey.
