Hi , just new to the forum , just bought a new old skoda fabia 1.9 sdi x reg, but it seems to have a problem with the power steering , light comes on all the time now and steering is very heavy ,

it was only intemittant before,, called up my local skoda dealer and they said probably needs a new electric power steering pump , at £470 plus vat plus fitting !!!:eek:

car only cost me a grand, , does any one know of a cheap pump or looking on some of the threads it might be a sensor , where is the sensor?

i topped up the fluid , after removing the battery and the battery plate , but has made no diffrence, any suggestions please
