Annoying problem that I have never resolved.

Featured Replies

Hi Good old Soviet here,

My central locking on my Mk1 Octavia works fine except for one annoying problem:-

When I unlock either the driver door or passenger door, the boot unlocks at the same time. I has occurred to me that when I am driving the car, the doors are unlocked and also the boot, and so anyone that had bad ways, could help themselves to the contents when I have stopped at the traffic lights etc.

I think that I need to reprogramme some how using Vag-Com but I am not experienced in the use of this, and so I would like to ask if anyone would know this one.

Thank you.

Soviet:rolleyes:

Easy, just drive with your doors and boot locked :P

Short term - press the door lock button when you set off.

Long term - use VAG-COM to enable the auto-lock facility on the doors so it locks them automatically as you go above about 7mph , and the auto unlock when you take the key out.

That sounds like a good option but annoying having that bloody solenoid going off and on alll the time?
