Silver Fabia vRS Detail

Featured Replies

I spent last weekend giving Little Katie's Silver Fabia vRS a thorough detail (with lots of help, advice and guidance from Gilly - cheers mate)

I've posted a write up over on Detailing World at Newbie v Silver Skoda Fabia vRS - Detailing World

Comments good or bad appreciated.

Very impressive.

I think the under bonnet and interior shots do it for me, could very easily be a brand new car.

Ooo.. and your beer was out of date.

Very nice - but no mention of Katie helping out.

I mean ............. :(

Aren't I a lucky girl?! Wibble and I went shopping and left the boys to do the hard work! :D

I am very proud of my car though and when I noticed it had got a bit grubby after the journey back, I went straight to Halfords and bought some Meguiars Speed Detailer and some microfibre cloths to keep it sparkling in between cleans. See, I'm learning!

impressive work guys:thumbup:. Fancy doing mine?? (my beer's in date:P)

....learning

left the boys to do the hard work!

:P

Cracking effort

Steve

And the finishing touch (thanks Gilly!):

Can't believe I drank an out of date beer. I'm never drinking again :(

Great write up Andy (and Katie, for direction and production) and a really fun weekend :)

Would anyone like to PC my fabia, i will pay :)

I think you should get nice new plates made up, without the rather large MITCHELL sponsorship on them :D

Steve

There are some other ones the seller gave me without the EU symbol on - will have a look and see what they're like. I'd like plates like Andy's tho - they look really smart.

Andy, did you pick the products (glaze/sealant/wax) on the basis they were good for silver paint or were they just what you had in your stash?

Can't see the pics on the DW as I am at work but I will check this out when I get home buddy............

It was only just out of date.

There were haircuts in that dodgy pub you took us to that were at least 20 years out of date

LOOKS SPOT ON MATE! Good work guys! i have a silver fabia also, it does really pay off after all that hard work!

Gilly recommended the Megs glaze - I think its one of his favourites.

I had bought the Poorboys EX-P sealant recently - it claims to give a fairly deep wet look reflection and I think it did - not something thats easy to get from silver IMHO.

And finally I have been using the Collinite 476 on my car and just love it - great beading and long lasting. I think strictly speaking the Collinite 915 Marque D'Elegance would be better for my darker (green) car, but the 476 I already had was ideal for the silver IMHO.

Replied on DW, cracking work........

It was a toss up between Megs #7 and ClearKote Vanilla Moose Wax hand glaze. I chose #7 because I felt it would work well with the EX-P.

Here's a pic they missed :)

:( But the gay bar from 'Police Academy is his fav hangout :D

Is it just me, or does the Fab look white in the Gilly pic?!

Still, looks epic

Steve

Yeah, in certain lights it does look almost white. But up close, oh how it sparkles!

Excellent results. :)

Looks great.
