Paint code and colour coding.

Featured Replies

Just bought a 53reg octavia vRs but not sure which black itis as there's a few different ones that was an extra.

Anyone know the paint code or where to find it?

Next up im looking to colour code the bump strips, not sure if they unclip or are glued on, any ideas?

Is it best to buy new ones tht are already primered since they are pretty big and may warp.

When i had the focus i bought new ones and got someone to spray them but may give it a go with some spray tins since ive done a bit before and they turned out pretty good.

Thanks in advance.

the bumper inserts are clipped in, but the door bump strips are stuck on with double sided sticky tape.

I don't think you can buy the strips already primed.

As for the paint code, I think my mate got mine from a sticker under the carpet in the boot, but don't quote me on that.

Are you colour coding the door strips?

yea i will be colour coding them, will probably stick them back on using silkaflex. Dont fancy masking off half the car.

Black Magic, there will be a four digit code on the data sticker which should be in the boot and on the inside page of the service book. You will be able to get aerosol paint frm Skoda.

When you take the door strips off you might find, as they are well bonded on that that they may bend & distort, so it may well pay you to buy some new ones & they come with the double sided tape already fitted. I took my time removing mine & they were still bent as a banana so I bought new ones.

When you do decide to take the door strips off there will be some tape residue left over on the doors, so a little tip, buy or borrow a rubber wheel that most bodyshops use, it'll fetch it off in no time & save a hell of alot of time scrubbing away:thumbup:

thanks guys. what about the front and back strips, do they withstand the force better and not twist?

Yeah, they just pop out as they are clipped in not stuck on.
