Exhaust gasses light

Featured Replies

The "Exhaust gasses" light came on and stayed on on my car yesterday. But has gone away again this morning.

This is a 1.9TDi and does not have a DPF. Any ideas as to what this might be and is it is likely to reoccur? - still under warranty but will exhaust be covered?

Can you access VAG-COM at all?

That should read the fault code and give a good idea what the problem could be. Might be a dud sensor or something.

Failing that, get it to the dealer. As it's under warranty it shouldn't be an issue to get it fixed.

Good luck.

No don't have access to VAG-Com........unless anyone in Eastern Scottish Borders or around Dumfries, where I work, want to volunteer:)

Due a service in about 5K, which should take me less than 2 months, so unless it plays up again before than I will wait and get it check out then.

Different brand od diesel or something nasty in the diesel?

well after a trouble free week this light has come back on again.

guessing (hopeing?) that it is a faulty Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve and will try to get it check out next week.
