What's best for cleaning mesh seats?

Featured Replies

As the title says. I have a few marks on the mesh parts of my front seats what's best to clean them?

think alot will come up if you search... read alot on this subject before.

If my memory is correct I believe the general consensus was that "Shout stain removal spray" was what people favoured (although don't quote me on that)... I just used some fabric car cleaning stuff that I bought in a car shop, worked ok... just left windows open to air it out afterwards.

I used 1001 carpet cleaner, the stuff you can get from Asda, Tesco etc in the spray bottle.

Make sure you do the whole mesh part not just the stain as it will leave water marks when it dries!

I had a couple of water ring stains on the door mesh and rear seat mesh, got rid of them at the weekend with a spray of Febreeze fabric cleaner, like bigall said above clean the whole mesh part otherwise you get a bigger water ring stain!

Another vote for 'Shout' here, worked very well when I had the vRS. Especially good when you consider I had an Indian takeaway vs front seat inncident..

Vanish carpet spray worked a treat.

used 1001 too,but you have to dry it all off with a kitchen towel or something like that, does not stain if you do it.

I don't know what the dealer I bought my car from put on the leather parts of the seats to make them look shiny etc but it smeared onto the mesh when I was cleaning it with some car interior stain remover stuff that I got from halfords. So now the edges of the mesh look like theyve had some black liquid spilt on them! Luckily I only tried it on one of the rear seats!

Yep Shout from Tesco is the mutts nuts good price to, as said before make sure you do the whole panel at once and you will be pleased with the result:thumbup:
