Fun with Langka

Featured Replies

I feel I am losing a fighting battle with this  I get part of my nice big chip sorted, but part of it gets too much paint taken out :thumbdwn: So any langka users got any tips???????

I have had mixed success and have experienced this problem, I think the paint may need to set a little bit longer.

Instead of the big blob they suggest the build up the layers of pain insted so that base coats "bond" better? I'm no expert on this but to me this sounds like a probable solution?

I've had problems with it too, it's getting like the Karate Kid film - wipe on, wipe off, paint on, paint off :D

Try the layer effect, and don't rub too hard! (fnaar, fnaar)

Same problem here until I emailed langka who said sometimes for soft paints you need to dilute it. So took a dampt t-shirt applied a tiny bit of langka and was able to take off just enough paint to smooth the touchup out.

..and for those of us uneducated... what *are* you on about?

Ian,

Langka (see aftermarket detailing links section) is a paint blob removing product, like a very fine cutting paste - check out their website for a better sales spiel.

Langka is the equivlanet of 3000 wet grit sandpaper but in liquid form.

Used to soften and take off excess touch up paint. Works by applying it to tshirt of smooth cloth which you wrap around a credit card, then rub up and down on touchup until paint thins. Works very well, except on Skoda and VW paints you need to dilute it a bit, or it takes too much off the touchup paint out of the chip.

ahhh.... enlightened.
