Felicia alternator voltage regulator thread

Featured Replies

this applies mainly to the 1600cc and 1.9d models with the bosch alternator, but it's vitually the same process for the 1300 model..

it's quite common for the voltage regulator to fail which leads to the battery over charging, and often the battery light will flash on the dashboard.

first remove the 3 phillips screws, and if you haven't done so allready the nut which holds the main power cable

next there are 3 locking tabs around the periphery of the cover which can be prized carefully out, it's quite tricky to do all three at the same time.

carefully clean the electrical contact with a piece of emery tape to remove all the dirt and oxidisation, caution, do not bend the contact, also it will break off easily

make sure you check your new parts before you remove them from the packaging as electrical items cannot be refunded once opened normally, this one supplied by gsf is slightly different..
