HPC Young Drivers Day 2012

Featured Replies

The High Performance Club will be running another Young Drivers Day on the 14th of July 2012. This is open to those who are aged 26 years or less and hold a full driver's licence, and are not already HPC members. The aims of the day are to:

  • Promote awareness of driving skills at advanced levels
  • Encourage the participants to develop their own skills
  • Have fun

More details are available on the HPC website.

Probably time to unpin the 2011 topic then!

Out of curiosity why do you limit this to under 26?

Prior to joing this forum I had never heard of the HPC and so never had the opporunity to see what you do.

Perhaps the title answers that......YOUNG Drivers Day!!

I wonder if they would do a "Grumpy Old Man's" Day? :giggle:

Title says the stipulation not the reason, hence the question Graham!

Well their web site gives no answer, so I should imagine that

1/ they consider anyone of 26 not to be young

2/ there is probably an insurance stipulation.

I suppose the only way to get a definitive answer would be to email the HPC and ask them.

Topic now pinned in place of the 2011 one :)

It's aimed at encouraging young drivers to improve their driving skills and introduce them to the club. There is no special insurance reason. Older drivers are assumed to be sufficiently self-motivated to inquire about the club and go through the joining process if they are interested enough. There's more information if you follow the link Gareth posted. If you're interested in the course and the club in general, try the About the Club link at the top of the website.

There are a number of HPC members on here who will be happy to answer questions if you have them.

Applied, seems like a really good opportunity. Also I noticed Clive one of their assessors is based 20 miles from me :)

I'm going to look into HPC once I have the RoSPA under my belt. :)

Joshh, Clive will almost certainly be at the day and you'll get a chance to chat. You can go for a half-day assessment at any time. Most people benefit from some kind of advanced driving training beforehand, but that shouldn't stop you exploring the possibilities. Maybe see you there.

Applied. :)

There are still a few places left so if you're thinking about this, do it! :)
