My Superb is only a month's old, now has a few rock chips on the paint and windscreen already!

It happened few weeks ago when driving through Glasgow, a highway maintenance truck kept dropping little stones onto my then week new car.

I have an official touch-up paint pencil and wondering if it can be applied to such paint chips?

I think it´s better to give it some touch-up paint, than leaving it to rust :)

If the rust develop, is the 12yr Perforation warranty going to cover?

No. It only covers rust coming from the inside out, not outside in.

Yes - just use a ****tail stick to apply the paint, not the huge brush that is fixed to the cap. Build the paint up in very thin layers.

If needs be practice on something else first...

OK, so I'm not allowed to use the word "cocktail" on here, in case you're wondering what a ****tail stick is, it's one of these -

So, on it's own the word ****tail is not allowed, but within quotes "cocktail" is

Well, it´s a british site, so it´s not a big surprise :)

Any Skoda dealer should be able to supply the touch-up paint, if by any chance the colour you want has been discontinued there are loads of companies of the web that advertise paint mixed to the colour you want - my experiense is that wotht he mixed to order route you'll get more paint, but it always requires loads of stiring first to mix it up after it's been sat for sometime.

If you're only filling tiny stone chips then even of the mixed paint does quite match you won't notice it.

Thanks a lot!!!  I'll give it a go this weekend (will firstly test it on my chipped golf club which also has a metal surface...).

BTW, how do I store the paint afterwards, just in the shade?  And how long can I keep it?

Yes, go to your Skoda dealer. It´s an original part and it does´nt cost much.

Or try www.paints4u.com, they supply kits including the little sticks the pro's use, some fine wet and dry and polish to polish it back.

Used them a couple of times and have been very pleased with them

I just keep our on a shelf in the garage, with the cap screwed tightly on (after wiping clean the threads) - while the touchup pencils has a use-by date on I've always ignored this, if after 3 years in the garage it still appears to be OK!
