Torque steer

Featured Replies

I have stage 1 TFSI - no torque steer, only wheel spin in 1st 3 gears. Of those only 1st and 2nd actually need extra care.

Why not just moderate throttle input until higher speeds? Or how about new front rubber and alignment check as something is not right if only at stage 1 TSI ~250bhp. Cheaper than LSD!

You're very lucky or never press the LOUD pedal in anger.

It usually happens to me on roads with any loose surface or if the road is damp in patches, when I go to overtake even if I am already doing over 40mph because there is so much torque.

I am definately going to give the Quaife LSD a try. :bandit:

The mk7 golf gti 'plus' pack apparently gets a mechanical LSD....

Torque steer can be very much down to driving style too!

If you go low-ish RPM in 3rd lets say, put your foot down and let go of the steering wheel, It will more than likly pull over to the left! But if you were easy on the throttle and built it up then it would keep pretty straight!

yep, as said a few of us with ~ 250bhp / 325lb stage 1 octys dont suffer torque steer, so either a mechanical problem is at fault or a slighty erratic driving style at play.

The only problem I get and I hear other suffer, is struggling for grip in lower gears but nothing you cant modify your driving style to accomodate ;)

Don't the FL octys have diff that the fabia vrs has?

With my heavy footedness I get torque steer at high speed.

Yep, I know, drive a little more gently & It will be reduced, but then I won't be able to make the overtake as safely.

What I have found though is that If I use manual & go down to 4th It is more impressive with the huge surge & push in the back, rather than the fierce kickdown when in auto.

I look forward to feeling the difference when I get the LSD fitted & when REVO get round to a remap for the TSI DSG box.

It's a common problem with remapped high torque diesel engines.

Not a helpful answer but the solution is get an audi ax quattro
