Paint damage advice sought

Featured Replies

My car care is sometimes similar to my DIY - 1 step forward and as much backwards!!

Good news - thanks to briskoda I have changed the pollen filter successfully. However, on washing my Rosso superb today I have noticed some damage either side of the groove above the passenger door. I am the culprit - a couple of weeks ago I collected my car from station to find a large bird eating plenty of berries had dumped a lot of deep purple mess on my superb. It had dried and knowing it is advised to remove ASAP so when I got back home a used a kitchen sponge and bottle of water to remove - (kitchen sponge thrown away after!!). Now said sponge was also a pan scrub type on other side - I know - I am a fool. To cut a long story - I have left a small area along the roof gutter dulled!scratched. Any advice on if this can be at least improved slightly? Many thanks

A good polish will remove those scratches, and put it down to experience never to use a scourer or abbrasive pad on the car. Gtechniq P1 is my chosen polish, but there are many on the market, just be prepared to put in a little elbow grease.

Do you know anyone with a good polishing machine?. The problem with that would also be that you may end up polishing the whole car!!

Do not buy a polisher !!

There is a good chance you could make this a lot worse

Pop along to a local paint shop and ask them they might do it for the price of a drink , if not treat yourself to a pro detail

If you can get up to Newbury i'll do it for you
