McLaren Honda 2015

All official. They'll supply the engine and KERS unit. Think everyone it's going to be more like the Senna days but I'm hoping it's not going to be all the Earth Dreams crap Honda had at the end of the last time they were in F1. One thing McLaren need is better designers. Gordon Murray designed Senna's cars last time it was McLaren Honda so there's no guarantee it will go like that. Next year will be the last time they have the Merc engine. Not much will change as there's contracts to stick to.

Good move IMO. With Mercedes now back in F1 as a factory team, McLaren were only ever going to play second fiddle and not get priority on upgrades etc. Furthermore as it looks like Renault could be pricing themselves out of the 2014 engine market, other teams will be switching over to Merc power. The challenge of combining both power and efficiency will have certainly been "music" to Honda's ears!

Best news all week in F1, certainly better than all this tyre rubbish.

Honda McLaren FTW!

So... Mercedes own the old Honda team and now Honda muscles into the(basically) ex-works Mercedes team.. Nice :giggle: .

Be interesting to see though, seen no mention of exclusivity, so who else may be getting a Honda engine ? Mugen Marussia in 2014 as a test mule ?
