Finally, the eagle has landed!

Featured Replies

After what seems like a very long wait, my Elegance manual has finally arrived.

It's blue (obviously) with the ivory interior, and has sunroof, citiysafe, stop/go, cruise control, sunset glass, front mud flaps, chrome boot strip, roof rack and spare wheel, plus a couple of extras I sourced myself: centre armrest, VW Up false boot floor and rear window blinds.

I'm having the front of the car wrapped in clear film tomorrow to protect from stone chips.

First impressions are that its very comfy and well built.

I'll be doing about 1600 miles a month, so I'll be interested in how it performs and what sort of economy I get.

Looks great. I love the ivory interior but didn't dare choose it myself :)

Where's your armrest from? I installed an Armster 1 which sometimes seems a little low even at its highest setting.

My fuel economy is in my signature. I don't commute with it - only use it to get out of town and into the pretty green stuff. I drive 50% highway/country road 15% City and 35% motorway - all within or below the speed limit. I use cruise control and generally drive conservatively.

Armrest is a Milotec job - no drilling, just bolts under seat runners. Has a cubby inside and is adjustable fore/aft and up/down. It also pivots up to get to handbrake (although you can operate handbrake fine with it down).

My commute is 320 miles return, but it's all 60mph dual/single carriageway with maybe 1-2 miles of urban roads at either end, so I'm hoping for high 50mpg - or ideally mid 60 mpg!

Very nice. Ivory interior goes very well with the blue paintwork. Some choice mods also. Love the arm rest.

Congratulations - the car looks great Professor.

I haven't seen the ivory interior in 'real life' yet and I like the blue/ivory combo.

Did that armrest come with the ivory trim and is the trim in PVC and textured like the door panels? The ivory and black parts look a very close match to the car.

Was it very easy to fit?

Thanks in advance for the response and enjoy your commute!

Andy.

Hi Andy

No, I had some spare leather which I had dyed to the same colour as the ivory interior. I took out the standard black cloth and popped in the leather - it does match perfectly!

Fitting took 5 mins. You unbolt the 2 inner bolts on the back of the seat runners of both front seats, unscrew the handbrake/cupholder shroud, slide in the armrest under the seat runners, pop the upholder unit back in and do up the screw/bolts. Simples!

Hopefully I'll have some photos of the Ventureshield 3M protective film being applied later today...
