My car is at unit 18 and I've just got the bill the flywheel has caused the input shaft bearing to fail so its having gearbox recon new dmf and clutch total repair bill £957 ouch....

I blew my box up

2nd hand low mileage box £450

New helix and smf £880

Fitting £100

Was it your DMF that failed? Or SMF?

As he's replaced with stock id hazard a guess it was the stock flywheel

This is what also happened to my gearbox! Rattly dmf took it out of the game

Yes it was the dmf apparently there was too much play in it the gearbox, it had been rebuilt previously because of the input shaft bearing I could have left in the dmf but they said they wouldn't guarantee the work if I did Ali at unit 18 said it looked fine but that was the deal I didn't want to risk the gearbox again so replace both clutch and dmf it's moneyi could do without spending really as I'm going on holiday in a few weeks
