Mk 3 Octavia Vrs - Unusual switch

Hi I am new to the forum and am looking at buying a used Octavia Vrs estate mk3. However on the centre console just in front of the gear stick is a rocker switch and I dont know what it is for. What concerns me is it looks non-oem and more like its been fitted aftermarket. Anyone got any ideas what it might be or does? I did switch it on and one side lit up red but didnt notice anything else happening.....please help?!?
