1.4tsi ACT noise or vibration problem

Featured Replies

Hi, i have Superb 2015 1.4tsi ACT, with manual gearbox. I feel and hear nouse and vibration in 1500-1600rpm in ACT mode. Has someone else same problem?

Mine is with DSG, and I can feel vibrations 0,1% of the time when the car is running in 2-cylinder mode. So I don´t see it as a problem, just "working as designed" :)

Yes, I get the same, it's because at such low engine speed the fact the engine is more like a two stroke is always going to make it create more vibration. This disappears at higher revs and interestingly I found there is nothing to be gained running a higher gear and lower engine speed for economy. A lower gear and higher engine speed is smoother and does not noticeably reduce fuel consumption. I'd always drop down to fifth once road speed drops below fifty for example.

I have driven with dsg gearbox cars, with the same engine (Skoda,VW, Seat)Other cars act system dosnt feel disturbing like my car feels.

Its a trade off for the economy gains I guess...

I try to find car with same engine and gearbox to compare the behavior of ACT system.

Same engine and also manual.

I have a slight vibration that I can feel but i don't find it that disturbing.

I did testdrive with similar car. I found out that my car vibrates more when Act is activated. In other car it didn't feel disturbing.

I hope dealer finds solution to my problem. They already did diagnostics and software update.

I have a Passat 1.4 TSI ACT with manual gearbox, I have similar problems but for my side is when the engine is up to 2000 rpm

For the moment VW rejects the problem, thus I engaged aa procedure against them
