  1. Also: you get some sensors at the side of the car (above each wheel, I think). I guess you're only able to get those if ordering the park assist? Even though I've only used the park assist once (oh, that was a fun and really useful experience, btw :-) ) I'm very happy to have sensors all round when parking or driving somewhere cramped.
  2. From what I can see (though I have not really watched out for the effect of auto dimming) we have all of this as standard on Elegance over here, also on our 2014 model. Strange this about the huge differences in standard equipment between markets! Have to say I like the automatic folding, but can not say I have noticed the spots or the dimming yet. The heater is not tested either, probably due to usually parking in a rather large garage.
  3. If you drive in "manual" mode, yes it is. Not in automatic, obviously. Have only seen upward suggestions, though I haven't used manual mode often so that's probably why.
  4. My guess is that if you have the appropriate infotainment system you wont have the physical button. I don't have it either, and neither for instance the Tyre Pressure calibration button (both of those is done on the screen).
  5. My car is just a stock Elegance so guess these are just another boring "same same" pictures, but as this is the photo thread... here goes: Front: Side: Inside (excuse the dirty parts):
  6. Thought I should add my (relatively) new one to get some life back to this thread: Ordered last day of October and received mid January after 10 weeks of reading the owners manual: Black hatch, 1.2 TSI DSG Elegance, with the following extra optionals: Detachable towbar Foldable passenger seat Tinted rear windows Intelligent parking assistant Rear window wiper Simply Clever Some stuff are standard which I have seen is not in all countries, like Crew Protection, Bi-Xenon/AFS, Cornering fog lights and Cruise Control. But don't want to post the price of the car, it is generally very expensive to buy cars here. I like the dual sided boot mat included in the Simply Clever package. With regards to the park assist I haven't had time to test it yet, but even if I never use it I think it is a requirement to order that one to get the forward park sensors which have proved really useful for me. Previously I have never bothered much about cars living i central Oslo as I do, just wanted something small which takes me from A to B. But with this one I still keep finding excuses to go to the garage or take a detour when driving! I simply love (almost) all about it
  7. Hi, when half a year ago I compiled the list of successors to our then Hyundai i20, Skoda was nowhere near my conscience. But now we own a mkIII Skoda Octavia, and we love it! It is a black 1,2 TSI hatch with DSG and a few extras (parking assistant, detachable towbar, foldable passenger seat, sunset windows, simply clever and a rear window wiper). For some reason they locally also adds front mud flaps and loading protection. I have noticed there are quite huge differences in what´s set up as standard in different countries, and also what is available as options. Haven´t been able to do any long trips yet, but it is a marvel to drive, and soooo huge compared to our previous cars. Which is a big plus with family. Also, living in the city (Oslo) I am happy to have the "automatic". So cool btw to be able to switch manually if so inclined I found this forum well before the new "toy" arrived, but I am glad I didn´t until after ordering; otherwise the horror stories on here with regards to delivery time might have put us off. And that would have been a shame, I now have to say. Luckily our sales rep seems to be clued in to what options will cause delays, so we skipped stuff like ACC/Front Assist or Lane Assist, which would otherwise have been nice to have. Now we ordered on October 31th and picked it up last week, not too bad! Really like the manual app´s for smart phones and tablets, I have been reading up on that whilst waiting. So much automatic logic going on everywhere - really something for an IT nerd like me... Looking forward to testing this "huge" car over the next years! Mikael
