  1. I may be interested, is the badge the correct fitting one I.e. Fits the curve etc. Can't tell from the pics?
  2. There is definitely 25% off! booked mine in today for a stage 1 next week at AP Automotive with 25% off! can't wait!
  3. Thanks Sheldon for the reply (sorry it took so long!) I ended up taking the car to a non-dealer skoda specialist for a second opinion, he took the car for a quick spin, confirmed the car was down on power and said it was the turbo from an initial diagnostics check. When they delved deeper they found it was actually the actuator for the turbo which they replaced, for a fraction of skoda's quote to change the turbo, now I have the car back it is a completely different beast, working spot on without any issue, turns out the car has always been broken ever since I bought it at the beginning of the year (perhaps why the previous owner sold it) but I am absolutely delighted with it now! Not sure i trust the proper dealers anymore though I paid for a full diagnostics check in which they said the had tested everything, but the specialist said that even if they had changed the turbo, the problem wouldn't have been fixed as the actuator doesn't come with the replacement turbo, not impressed...
  4. I definitely think that this could be done, as the new bracket for the strut must be catching or sitting on something when closed because when fitting you don't put anything between the bonnet and hinge so the height is not adjusted. So by bending/trimming the bracket you could perhaps prevent it catching. Ha, no it's not just you!
  5. I couldn't wait to fit and had a spare 10 minutes so have just fitted this, really easy to do and works really well, as adamal said the bonnet is slightly lifted on one side, but is really not noticeable unless you are really looking for it. It also doesn't raise to the same height a the original bonnet holder on mine, but only by a couple of mil, so has no effect on access, really chuffed with this, a very successful group buy in my opinion!
  6. Have received mine today can't wait to fit! Thanks again Keechy
  7. Mine will have to be posted too I'm afraid, my cars out of action for a couple of weeks until payday so unable to travel
  8. Hi all, my mk2 octy vrs has been at skoda for the last 3 days after the exhaust light came on, on the dash. After initial diagnostics they said something was wrong with the turbo or something relating to it, so I paid for them to carry out a full test plan of the turbo (computer guides them through checking all parts) it came back as the turbo only boosting to half pressure - and a replacement needed. He said that when turbo powers up it spins fine but at half pressure begins to wobble slightly (he meant the spindle fan on the shaft inside the turbo and not the whole turbo, but for the life of me cannot remember what he called it) and would not boost any further after this. I have driven the car the 4 mile drive home and the light has now gone off (I assume they cleared the code) and the car feels absolutely fine to me, not at all sluggish and the turbo sounds as it always has. I don't really wont to pay the £1300 they are asking to replace this, but if I source a recon unit they will fit it for £300 2 questions: 1. Does this sound like the turbo is knackered and needs replacing (it does to me but won't to be sure three is no cheap fix)? 2. Does anyone know the part number for a new turbo as he gave me 06F145701HX but I cannot find this on any UK based turbo repairs/reconditioned turbo websites? Thanks!
  9. Thanks Keechy, payment sent this morning and PM sent with details, once again thanks for organising !

  11. Thanks for the info Toddie, but fortunately I was able to fix it, for the time being. After removing the seat and lifting up the cover, I could see that when turning the handle the splines that met on the seat were forcing against each other, but with a bit of careful persuasion with a hammer I bent them back so that they met. It is all working fine now, not convinced its a long term fix as something must have caused it to have bent in the first place but I'll worry about that if it goes wrong again!
  12. Hi yes I have tried it from out of the seat, as well as sat in the back giving really good access to the handle and even tried pushing the back from behind whilst turning the handle, it just won't move forward! I think I may have to see if I can take the seat apart at the weekend to have a look at the mechanisms inside.
  13. Hi all, as the title suggests I have an issue with my drivers seat recliner, it will recline back fine, but when you turn the handle forward (manual not electric) it wont budge, it doesn't matter how hard I try it will not move, and the more I fiddle with it trying to work out what's wrong the more I end up reclining the seat. So before I end up with a completely flat sun lounger for a drivers seat, has anyone else had this problem or know of a way to fix it? It's a 55 plate mk2 vrs it that helps, cheers!
  14. I have just been out and checked on the car and in the manual for the ans unit, it uses the optical parking system, having just quickly looked on here it looks like an option that newer cars had - seems I was wrong about it working with just parking sensors, unless anyone else's can shed any light?
