  1. My bluetooth unit is 5NO 035 730 B which per Ross's website link shows it doesn't have HFP so i'm going to sesrch ebay for a unit with HFP in the hope I can unplug one and plug in one without needing special codes. I think from everyone's helpful tips that HFP will sort me out. Thank you everyone for your great help
  2. Finally got a 3customer service person to admit 3 do not allow 2g connections so whilst3 say they do work with rsap i have a 2010 version of rsap/columbus and it doesn't appear to have hfp so i can't use it...... Speaking to skoda customer servce on Tuesday to see if i can upgrade unit.
  3. My issue still remains and i put my son's 3 network pay as you go sim in an old blackberry and like my samsung s4 mini it connects fine via bluetooth transfers contacts but says "no signal". Whrn trying to force it to connect manually it can't connect to 3 network as it says "not allowed". Called 3 whose technical help said the samsung s4 mini shows it should work fine on rSap. I said it doesn't. No idea..... so frustrated amd got 5 days to hand contract back to 3 network otherwise locked into a year. I like 3 otherwise because of the ability to use calls whilst abroad. All help welcomed. I saw someone downloaded an app but is that for bluetooth transfers rather than 'no signal' issues? Thank you
  4. I have a 2010 superb elegance.i previously had a blackberry on o2 which connected well but my wife's iphone5 won't connect. this week i got on 3 network a samsung s4 mini. it connects via bluetooth and the columbus system finds the phone and contacts but shows No Sgnal. i tried another phone with a different network and it worked. I suspect its a 3 networ problem. When i go into the dash menu and select manual network selection it either can't find"3" or it finds "3" but then says Äccess to 3 not allowed"... Help because i can't have a phone i can't use in the car.
  5. Ignition was off when battery connected and i connected the positive first then negative after taking negative off first when removing battery. Getting it checked next week by skoda as i need to take it in to get a radio code anyway
  6. i have a 2010 1.8tsi elegance with park assist and all toys incl front and rear heated seats, sat nav. Full skoda service history and 51k miles. We had a new cylinder head and timing chain replaced 8 months ago by skoda main dealer with balance of warranty left. Replaced the battery today. car is in north london / Barnet
  7. Thank you. I will check the fuse as you are right it is totally black and no reception. On the dashboard the computer shows the phone is connected to bluetooth. Any idea which fuse number. Is it f7 f8 under the engine? Cheers james
  8. I have a 2010 superb 1.8tsi and the battery went last weekend. I took the old battery out and a day later put a new one in. Car was totally drained. With new battery all was ok other than the radio unit refuses to work. It won't even come on for a pin prompt. it was working well before, Strangely my mobile phone still shows it is connected to bluetooth and the rear parking sensors blubleep although nothing shows on the radio screen. Any help? I'm 30min from a dealer and they said when i called it would need to be left with them....... argghh
  9. you won't believe it but...... "I don’t have good news I am afraid, I have just had the technician who is repairing your vehicle come to me and inform me that we cannot complete the repairs today, This is down to a issue with the main timing cover which we are unable to refit. This will cause the vehicle to leak oil, this part is distorted and will not sit back flush," arggh...
  10. I have now escalated to Skoda UK who came back initially saying as FSH Skoda they would now consider goodwill without admitting liability and they stressed they believe it is unconnected to warranty work however they would pay for all but £200 of the cost. When I pointed out I'd been offroad for 2 weeks they agreed to pay everything. Now that is good customer service....after skoda customer service uk initially 2 weeks ago said no assistance. Thank you for all contributors for your help. James
  11. Latest. Skoda customer services say no goodwill. Garage advise against driving car to independent garage and said I should arrange transporter if I don't have repair done. Unsure if that is realistic or not but it leaves me a little snookered re getting 2nd opinion. Citygate just called. They will look at whther they can give a discount on price.
  12. Thank you however I've lost confidence in the car. Still struggling with the concept that it has nothing to do with recall work despite happening within 10 miles of getting the car back....
  13. I have now been told that its £1,305 to repair - the timing chain has stretched and it needs a new timing chain and gaskets amongst others. I'm still perplexed as to how this would have gone within 15 miles of the car going in for the recall but Skoda are saying its not connected and no goodwill. Seems I'm snookered. James
  14. Had the dealer workshop manager on the phone telling me the recall was to do with gearbox oil and it wouldn't impact the engine in any way so its simply bad luck. He told me the error code is P0016 camshaft position sensor fault - Bank 1 sensor A timing over issue. Minor success - they agreed to do the investigation work free of charge and will tell me tomorrow what the exact cost / damage is. If you have any input on the error code I'd be very grateful. Thanks for all your help James
