  1. Yeah tried all the quick fixes but to no avail. I think I will just have to start with rams first. I have a vw t6 with electric doors and I hate them more than the tailgate on the skud. There is just more to go wrong and more expensive to fix.
  2. Hi all hope someone can help out here. I've got a 2015 vrs estate with a electric tailgate. Before Christmas it started to beep but fully raise. Now it only lifts about 10inch then bleeps and I have to manually lift it. I've searched on here and it could be 1 of 3 things rams, bcm or catch. I think it is the rams as they are a bit wet, but is there anyway to test if it is the other 2? Thanks for any help
  3. Put the car in reverse just with the ignition on and lightly put your finger on the sensors one by one. You will feel a faint pulse from the ones that work and nothing from the faulty one. From there you can check your wiring or replace the sensor if needed.
  4. Really the car needs to be re calibrated for adas if it's got radar cruise as any adjustments can throw it out. Even unplugging the parking sensors you should recalibrate. Was really surprised when told about the parking sensors but made sense when he told us it all works together with the radar.
  5. Other option is to double side and screw it which would be worse once tin worm is in. This is common practice to bond bodykits and I mean from factory.
  6. Give the area a dam good clean (car and skirts) then rough up with a kitchen scourer. Panel wipe down a couple of times. Then use black window primer on both parts(this bit is important). Once dry use windscreen sealer or panel bond (dont use cheap rubbish from halfords and dont be shy with it. Wants to be about 10mm high in a pyramid shape) put it in place and wedge it up and leave alone till the next day. Only down side is when it's on it's on.
  7. I've just fitted H&Rs on mine and love em. I've got mine from German ebay as it was cheaper and they arrived in 3 days. This is the item number from the ones that I bought 372205515911. I would recommend getting top mounts and drop links while your at it.
  8. Dyno runs was not for posing but for reference and making sure I got what I paid for. It also explained why my clutch gave up so quickly which is another reason for having it done.
  9. £718 seems abit steep. Do you get free map upgrades? I only paid £550 for a racingline oem+ map with free map upgrades and rolling road printout. Had to replace my clutch straight away though as its running more torque than it should, but a call to racingline HQ said it was all gud. Can recommend the Sachs performance clutch for when yours is shot.
  10. Hi all just got my car back from the garage from having fitted an uprated Sachs performance clutch (after my old one was ripped to bits from a sweet racingline oem+ map), H&R lowering springs and fsd shocks. Just wanted to know hows other peoples clutch felt when you first got the car back to how it feels when you have done some mileage. Reason I ask is that the garage wasn't happy with how the clutch felt but they was told it has to bed in. I've done about 20 miles in traffic and the clutch is feeling better than when I picked it up, but was wanting to know other peoples experiences. Btw people who was thinking of lowering there car or replacing there shocks I would 100% recommend this setup. The ride is so smooth and comfortable its untrue. It rides the bumps like a magic carpet but becomes really sharp in the corners.
  11. If its started since then I would go and get the wheels rebalance as a weight could have fallen off or hes put it in the wrong place.
  12. 272 on the rear but that wont make that much difference as most of the stopping force is on the front. When I put 310 on the rear it just made it more stable under hard braking.
  13. Standard which was the same as my mk2 but comparing both side by side theres just not the feel or confidence in the mk3.
  14. Hi well I've got the 340mm with yellow stuff pads in and got to say I'm well disappointed with the feel and braking power. Thought they would feel the same as my mk2 with an S3 setup on, but they were a lot nicer in feed back and stopping. I don't know if it's got something to do with the master cylinder and abs pump that's different to the mk3, but the feel is just not there. I've been looking at racingline monoblocks myself and also golf R 4pots from killerbrakes which are very well priced.
  15. How old is the car? If it less than 3 years old you can request a genuine one or pay the difference. They should have informed you about it like they did me.
