  1. After selling my Octavia, I now have this Columbus for sale. This is a Columbus and not an RNS-510 so has the proper green Skoda illumination. I had been using an early Columbus in my car for a number of years (2007 pre-facelift), but upgraded to this DAB version back in 2014. Across the original and this DAB version, I had used a number of additional parts to make this work well (fascia, Autofun FM screen antenna for second input, 1K0035501J DAB/FM/GPS roof antenna, a couple of cables). However, I put the non-DAB version back in the car before selling, so have just this head unit to sell. I am also including an unused GPS antenna. It has the 2016 v13 (8348) maps loaded. Firmware version is 6270 (note I never did the PQTable/SKTable swap on this for the Octavia). Part number is 3T0 035 686H. Asking price is £500. Can be collected from Epsom, Surrey (10 minutes from M25 J9). Alternatively could be shipped, probably using DPD for their reliability and convenience for both me and recipient, for £17 including insurance. If you collect, I have a VCDS and could help with coding. Please PM if interested.
  2. Now that my vRS has been sold, I no longer need this wheel and tyre set. I bought these in the autumn of 2011. The tyres were brand new at the time, though the wheels were used. The tyres have seen five winters of use, though not a huge mileage, and still have about 4mm of tread on each tyre. I rotated front to back each year and they are directional. The tyre date codes are 4711 and I paid £560 for the tyres when new. They are 225/45 17 94H. No damage to the tyres. Fantastic in the snow, not that they saw much, but beneficial in the cooler winter conditions. The wheels are in very good condition. There is no kerb rash and any marks present are very minor, only visible when looking close. We never kerbed these, though the 18s seemed more susceptible to kerbing. Being picky to point them out, these are limited to some bubbling around the valve on one, some rim marks that where there when I bought the wheels so touched in, and another small mark on a rim, perhaps caused by a pothole, where the paint had chipped. I have shown these in the photos. I had protected these with FK1000p though have not topped up in a while so most has washed off, but the faces of the wheels in particular are still very easy to clean. Includes Skoda centre caps (showing some age related wear). Suitable for all models of the MkII Octavia. I believe they also fit the Superb of a similar age and VW group equivalents. Other models please check. Collection preferred from Epsom, Surrey (10 minutes from M25 J9). I could possibly ship these using a wheel courier. Asking £425. Please PM if interested. 3. Thanks for all the interest but the car is now sold. James
  4. I will soon be selling my vRS and listing on Briskoda first. It is a 2007 57 registration 2.0 TFSI petrol hatch in Race Blue, only two owners and 69,000 miles, with full MoT to September 2017 and full Skoda dealer service history. Modifications Revo Stage 1 remap Columbus navigation with SD/HDD, running 5238 and v13/2016 maps (can be replaced by original Stream MP3 if preferred with corresponding price reduction) OEM Bluetooth – works with most phones for operation through either Columbus or Maxidot VRS registration plate included in the sale Audi S3 aluminium wishbones Wheels coloured in sparkle silver Specification (in addition to usual vRS kit) MY08 including the pack of 18” alloys, dual zone climate, jumbo box with aux-in, rear electric windows and red calipers Xenon headlights Rear parking sensors Rain & Light sensor with auto dimming mirror Maxidot Cruise control The one previous owner of this car was former moderator vRStu. I have now had it for eight years. My wife had been the main user for the last couple of years and she wanted something smaller and so it is time to move on. This has been a great car to me over that time, requiring little other than routine maintenance. It has four matching Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta tyres. The car is in excellent condition for its age – cosmetically better than the 2 year old Approved Used MINI replacing it, due to always washing by hand and parking in the far away spot of car parks. The wheels were refurbed in 2012 by Lepsons, who decided to change the colour without asking, but the sparkle colour (standard on many cars, but more glitzy than the regular VAG silver) actually works well. The rear spoiler had suffered from the usual lacquer peel on these and so I have had it repainted. I picked it up today and will refit this week, along with the other cleaning ready for sale. More pictures will then follow. Car is located in Epsom, Surrey, just ten minutes from M25 J9.
  5. The missing ticked boxes are probably sloppiness by the dealer, through desk staff not knowing what do with the service book, rather than work being skipped. I had the same problem too with a service plan and a seemingly random set of boxes ticked every time, meaning I didn't know the actual work done. For the most recent service I went back and they showed me something on the the computer that detailed the the actual work done, which did correspond to the schedule. The tech's are likely to see a similar list to make sure they do it all. My book boxes were tippexed and reticked by the dealer.
  6. My Octavia has been on service plans since new, which I think confuses the main dealer. Due to the plan, I get no indication of what elements of the service have actually been carried out. My dealer has no idea how to fill in the service book - I think they tick the boxes almost at random. This is now my fifth service with them and fourth where the book has not been filled in correctly. My understanding of what is needed and whether they have filled the book in correctly is from the service book. I appreciate that could be out of date, for example I brought forward the cambelt change to 4 years instead of what is in the book. According to the book, the recent service should have been the 6-year / 60k, which at that age should have been an Inspection service including a change of air filter and spark plugs (2.0 TFSI vRS). I mentioned the plugs when bringing the car in. The book has been stamped as an oil service with no additional work. I am more worried that the required work is not being done. Do Skoda dealers have some form of electronic record logging what has been done? Does anyone know of an up-to-date service schedule that can be downloaded? Thanks.
  7. Hello all. My car is a 2007 MY08 vRS petrol. My wipers have been working almost normally up to now, with the exception of the rear washer (motor operates but no water comes out). However, after an 'Inspection Service' and MOT, including replacement of some seized/leaking front suspension components to get through the test, on getting the car back my front wipers will not operate. I can still squirt water on the screen/headlights and the rear wiper still works, but there is no movement from the front wipers in any stalk position or any sound of anything trying to happen. I have checked the 30A wiper fuse - it is position 31 on my car - including trying an alternative, but no change. I have also run a VCDS scan and it comes back with the following: Address 09: Cent. There are loads of posts about the rear wiper failure, but a fair number of cases where the front goes. This was a useful thread: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/247085-desperate-for-some-help-please-pic-included/ From what I have found, it is possibly one (or more) of the following: - Motor failure - Poor grounding of the motor - Linkage seized - Faulty wiper stalk Hopefully the fuse is ruled out. The other posts where replacing a relay only seems to have been a solution to the rear. As I understand it, there is no separate relay for the front. I think I can also rule out the bonnet switch as I don't have the other symptoms of that. There are other things I want to go back to the dealer about (I'll post in another thread) and perhaps they did something to have broken the wipers. On the other hand, it's quite possible that it's a coincidence to have gone following their repair. I want to avoid them throwing parts at it at main dealer rates. The motor is one of the pricer components and I have seen earlier posts where the motor was changed and it still didn't fix it. What are people's opinions on what seems most likely, or what to do? I would be willing to have a go at replacing the motor/linkage myself. What is the difference between the V216 error code and other posts where V217 for the passenger side is at fault. There is only one motor, so is that just RHD vs LHD? Thanks, James
  8. I still have these available. I'm willing to accept reasonable offers. James
  9. The SimpleFix looks like a good idea. I'd like to reattach my rear plate because it's very slighty off square. I originally used sticky pads, but the trickiest thing is to get it level. If not using SimpleFix, how do others avoid it being wonky? I did redo my front plate not so long ago, putting masking tape on the bumper and drawing a series of equidistent parallel lines on masking tape stuck to the bumper and did get it perfectly square. Unfortunately, in using a citrus sticky residue remover to clean off the old pads, they have also caused the plate to delaminate slightly, It wasn't apparent at the time, but it now looks a mess. I'll need a new plate for the front so might as well redo both.
  10. Unused and still in sealed pack from dealer. For Mk2 hatch and estate. Theoretically doesn't fit the vRS or Scout but searches on here will find those who have shaped them to fit with heat. Looking for £17 including postage (will discount if collecting, I'm near M25 J8). Please PM if interested.
  11. A bump as these are still available. Any offers, please PM me. I'll be putting them on eBay shortly.
  12. I have two different bluetooth kits for sale. Kit 1 - £120 The first is a complete GSM kit but of the old variety and controlled by the Maxidot display of the Octavia. It cannot be operated by a satnav such as the Columbus like some of the newer modules, only from the Maxidot. It will work in the pre-facelift Octavia 2, but probably not the facelift. The contents are: 5P0 862 335C interface Bracket for fixing under the seat Black carpet cover for hiding the interface and bracket (one clip present, the other missing) Loom, with bare wires at the head unit end Microphone Bluetooth antenna This is a used kit. I bought everyhting bar the interface in this state nearly 4 years ago because it also had the newer 1Z0 035 729 B interface to substitute for the older interface already in my car. The kits for sale here has my older interface. The functionality of the interface via Maxidot is identical to the newer interface. This kit uses the handsfree Bluetooth profile, effectively turning the car into a headset, so works with nearly all Bluetooth phones. It is not the rSAP kit. Note this is not a plug and play kit. All the bits above plug into each other, but some work with connectors will be required to join to the head unit. The guide used to be on octavia-vrs.com (which seems to be down right now). Kit 2 - £120 Having replaced the bluetooth module to the 729B, I found it wouldn't sync contacts with a past mobile phone. After trying many things with the phone, I bought a different module that uses a slightly different method for contacts. While it was the newest at the time, I found it would not work properly in the pre-facelift Octavia. It is intended for the facelift, again with Maxidot. It should work with the Columbus too in facelifts. I swapped it back out for the 729B, which is still there (and did the better option of getting a new phone). This kit is mainly just the module: 1Z0 035 729E interface Bluetooth antenna Microphone This is virtually new and unused. I believe it may make a good substitute for those with an rSAP module and probably (though I am not 100% on this) just a straight swap+code. This is another non-rSAP module so works with iPhones. If installing this one afresh, it will need a loom from somewhere. I have had these in cupboards for a few years and now having a clear out. I have a VCDS and can code the modules before sending but you will probably need to find someone else to do the car, or it you are nearby, I can help code the modules and the car after fitting. I am located in Sutton, on the border of London and Surrey. If posting, I can send the first kit for £10 and the second lighter kit for £8. Any queries, please feel free to ask.
  13. Gadgetman - no hard feelings, it's an honest mistake. You must have been gutted on spotting that after the GB has got this far. In the grand scheme of things, it's 'only' £34 each. Yes, it's money we'd rather have in our pockets, but it's not life or death. The original GB deal was based upon getting at least 20 definite orders. We don't really want to upset V-Tech if there was any form of contract in place. They haven't done anything wrong. It had been said their lack of help was diabolical, but I disagree. They've agreed they'll supply a minimum of 20 VCDSs for £229 each plus P&P for this group buy concluding today. From their perspective, we're trying to move the goalposts by now wanting to pay less. On an enthusiasts forum, we might be willing to give up our time and expertise for free as a hobby, but they are a business and can charge what they see fair. That said, I counted 89 payments received. Even if there are many drop-outs, there could still be at least 50 / £10k worth of orders and if V-Tech are willing to possibly lose the group order, a retender might be worthwhile. This must be the Marshall's quote, as I thought they were the only ones in the UK to supply in the plastic box (although Gendan ask an extra £8 or so for it, of part of their £299 power bundle). The £149 must have been a typo as £249 sounds more realistic for a normal price.
