  1. Nice one. Will it do any damage driving on it? I've gotta do 100 miles tomorrow!
  2. I noticed today that the pipe shown in the attached picture has completely split. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what this pipe is, what it is for and if driving with it split is dangerous for the engine? I can't say I've noticed any running issues but I'm not sure how long it has been split! The pipe that splits into a Y seems in good condition, it is just the one attached to it that is split. Thanks!
  3. Cheers guys! I do like to be able to hear a bit of grunt so glad to know it is nothing unusual!
  4. Just wanted to check whether it is fairly normal for the 1.2 (70hp version) to sound fairly growly. My mrs is thinking of buying one and I test drove it today. Drove great, but just sounded louder than I had expected! Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks

  6. Hi everyone, I have a Octavia VRS Y reg and recently have been experiencing a problem just after I start the car from cold with my brakes. It seems to coincide with that secondary air pump that stays on for about a minute or two. Basically, after a few presses of the brake pedal after a cold start it goes hard and I lose almost all my braking power. If I turn the car off and on, it resolves the issue and I have never had the problem after a minute or so from startup. It only seems to happen just after I start the car. It does not always do it but when it does the car hunts much more than normal. Apart from that first couple of minutes the brakes are working absolutely fine and I have no warning lights etc showing. I have tried searching for this issue with no luck so any help is much appreciated. I don't fancy entering a roundabout or junction one day to find the pedal has gone solid! Thanks
  7. My VRS is a Y reg and came with 16"s as standard. Apparently the very early cars had 16"s as standard not 17"s. I have 4 16" spiders for sale as well if your looking for some
  8. I had a similar problem and it turned out to be a very dirty throttle body. It was pretty easy to sort as I followed this really good guide that someone put on here. http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/129943-cleaning-throttle-body-1-8t-engine/ Hope it helps
  9. I think I'll take them mate. I have PM'd you. cheers
  10. Are they a direct fit and shallow enough to go in without any bending etc? Also, what RMS are they?
  11. yeh im gunna go with them I think for the sake of an extra few quid. cheers for your help, Ill let you know if i have any problems!
  12. Cheers mate. Yeh those FLI ones would do definitely do the job I think. I've fitted amps, subs and 6x9s before in previous cars but never component speakers. Do they just directly replace in the Octavia or is there a connector I would need to get?
  13. I am looking at upgrading the standard speakers in my octavia starting with the front. I know for best results I should get component speakers but I cant really afford a decent set so I was just going to replace the lower door speaker with a 3-way replacement. Found these and not sure if they will fit or how to fit ie. are they a straight swap or do you have to re-wire etc http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/4959.html Any advice will be great. Thanks
