  1. I fitted mine this morning, and yes,it does hit the vacuum box.It also hits the engine cover when the engine moves back under acceleration. It makes a horrible vibrating sound so I will have to try and bend the bar away.Sponge rubber will do in the mean time.:(

  3. Ive noticed a loss of low down grunt recently with my Fabia vRS.The first thing Ive always looked for with turbos in this situation is an air leak in the inlet tract.I removed the engine cover and had a look at the inlet pipe running from the intercooler to the throttle body.Where it joins the throttle body there was a lot of oil around the connection and the pipe was nearly completely out! The "O" ring sealing the joint had broken and boost had then forced the pipes apart. A visit to the local VW dealer and three quid later,I had the new part. It only took a few minutes to fit and now the car is back to its former grunty self! I was told by the VW dealer that this is a common problem,so it may have been posted before on the forum.
  4. I want to fit a new cat back exhaust soon.Looking at the OEM system,it splits just after the cat,but then runs over the top of the rear suspension as one piece. Can it be removed without any cutting?Any BTDT? Rex
  5. There is an old saying.....torque wins races, horsepower sells cars!
  6. Thanks for the welcome!Mo,while my wife enjoys driving the Fabia vRS,she unfortunately is not a car enthusiast. However the enthusiastic "woohoo" she let out the first time she floored the vRS in third gear, shows some possibilities! Rex
  7. Hi Guys, great forum! My wife and I have recently moved from Auckland to Portsmouth where she has taken up a new position at a Local hospital. I have purchased a 3 month old silver Fabia vRS from the local Seat dealer here while at first intending to buy a new Leon TDi 140 sport.Having driven a vRS back in NZ,I couldnt resist when it turned up on the yard.I would have preferred black, but silver will be fine! We covered 4000 Km over the Christmas/New Year period driving to Italy and back!I was absolutely blown away how easily the vRS ate up the miles.Economy was fantastic.Traveling at between 130-170Kmh most of the time,we averaged 48mpg! Ive been a VAG fan for many years, but this is my first diesel.I am very impressed!Up until we left NZ,I owned an A4,S2,RS4 and ex Germany quattro rally car,but I have bought my baby with me,a black 1990 urquattro 20v (RR) turbo. I am sold on the Fabia vRS,and cant wait to add a little more "performance" over the next few months. Rex
